If you are a true camera enthusiast, you would know that stability is something you shouldn’t compromise at all.

No matter which brand of camera you are using, having a steady hand and sharp focusing ability is something always admired among the professional community.

Speaking of using multiple brands, today I was experimenting around with my super reliable Nikon D3500 and decided to give it a shot once again after letting it rest in my collection.

Since it lacks an in-body stabilization module, I came up with the idea to curate an article about the Best Tripods For the Nikon D3500 as I received a lot of inquiries about this topic.

So, without further ado, dive down below to know more about them in detail.

My Favorite List of Best Tripods For Nikon D3500

Let’s take a look at each tripod one by one, but before I also have included a list table.

1. Miliboo MTT609A – Best Tripod for Nikon D3500

Ideal for almost any scenario, the MILIBOO MTT609A is a strong and sturdy contender, however, the catch here is that it’s quite bulky.

Overall Design Quality

The Miliboo MTT609A has an interesting infrastructure approach that is unique when compared to other tripods that you may have seen in your life.

When it comes to building quality, calling it a “beast” would simply be an understatement of the century because of how much reinforcement it boasts.

For starters, the legs are divided into 5 tube-like sections made from very solid aluminum alloy which ensures that your payload remains stable no matter how strong the gust of winds is or how uneven the terrain is.

When the tripod is fully folded, it has a length of 85 cm and when fully retracted, it goes up to 170 cm, which means it takes quite a lot of space regardless of the fact is folded or not and you may have to carefully manage your storage space while storing it.

Dual Spiked Feet

The tripod also has claw-like structured feet which boast not just one but two spiked feet that fixate directly onto the ground making it quite easy to shoot or use heavier rigs when in a muddy or snowy location.

All of its three legs are connected through a leg spreader in between the tripod which lets you deploy the whole structure evenly and since it’s quite a lofty tripod, the spreader actually surely assists in setting up time.

 Payload Capacity & Anti-Freezing Oil

The tripod offers a lot of features, so even if the price tag seems a bit out of reach at first glance, you are getting a lot more than you bargained for.

When it comes to payload capacity, this absolute unit can hold up to 15 kilograms which means holding bulky rigs or even professional-grade cameras is a piece of cake for this tripod.

Testing Results

The mid-level spreader is the eye candy of the tripod as it ensures the legs stay open regardless of how much weight is loaded onto it.

During my evaluation and test phase, I came to the conclusion that the tripod rocks a fluid head and has not just one but two locks which are assigned to tilting and panning motion so you can increase or decrease friction accordingly.

Another mind-blowing aspect I noticed while playing around with this tripod is its extremely wide quick-release plate, so in case you decide to load up bigger and more spacious payloads, the tripod fluid head would be able to handle it without breaking a sweat.

Reason For Recommendation

A Tripod with exceptionally high levels of integrity, designed for heavy-duty use, and even has the tendency to satisfy a professional filmmaker.

2. Neewer Carbon Fiber – Nikon D3500 Tripod

The Neewer Carbon Fiber Tripod has a lot of fancy features that are hard to ignore all while having a lovely price tag.

Overall Dimensions & Build Type

Since I love to record videos on my Nikon D3500, I decided to buy the variant that is made from carbon fiber material type due to the fact that it has drastically better vibration compensations and is considerably lightweight when weighed on a scale, making traversal considerably easier.

And I love the fact that tall the overall structure is, making high-angle shots very easier especially when I am capturing beautiful stills or recording landscapes videography as it can reach up to 66 inches.

Furthermore, if you are worried about the portability factor, don’t be, because it can easily fit in places when fully collapsed, as small as a mere 22 inches.

Payload Specifications

Apart from a lovely matt black brushed finish with eye-popping red accents, the tripod boasts mind-boggling strength as you can load up 12 KG of weight like a champ.

In other words, you are getting the best bang for your buck because, at such a price tag, I have rarely seen any other tripod come close to such potential when it comes to stability.

Fluid Ball Head

The praise for such a magnificent tripod doesn’t just end here, but you would be surprised to know that even though the Neewer tripod is considered a mid-range stabilization accessory, it still offers a top-tier 360 ball head.

This makes panoramic shots feel like a breeze and if you are fond of videography or long exposure shots, you would absolutely adore the ball head due to its ability to shoot both vertically and horizontally.

Testing Results

This is the bag that is included in the package, it’s made from thin nylon material which has decent padding and is comfortable to hold with a well-made strap to carry it around.

Although I have tested out tons of tripods in the past, this one includes one of the most straightforward and easy-to-understand user manuals as it completely eliminates the need for you to surf the internet and watch tons of YouTube videos in order to understand how to operate it.

I love the fact that, unlike other tripods, this one folds backward, allowing it to become as small as possible for easy storage and you can even lay it completely flat on the ground.

In case you didn’t know, this tripod also has a mini surprise as one of its legs can also be detached to act as an independent monopod.

This is what it looks like when completely removed from the whole infrastructure, it even has a nice little grip in case you want to use Nikon D3500 in selfie mode.

Reason For Recommendation

Comes with a buttery smooth ball head and has a carbon fiber body, making it ideal for videography especially while working with heavier payloads.

3. Vanguard Alta Pro Tripod for Nikon D3500

A tripod that supports different variations of heads, however, the version I chose is the 263 AB because it has quite an amazing price-to-value ratio and some other handy features that I will describe below.

Carrying Case

Upon unboxing it, I noticed that, unlike other flagship-level tripods, this one surprisingly comes with a nylon carrying case which is made from a comfortable fabric with a rigid strap, allowing you to carry or store it when needed.

While the bag included in this package does a decent job for storage purposes, I didn’t find it as good as my aftermarket waterproof bag. Nonetheless, if you are on a budget and don’t want to spend the extra cash, then the proprietary bag would be more than satisfactory for your use.

Multiple Angle Adjustment

As far as the versatility aspect is concerned, this tripod certainly does wonders because you can easily adjust three-segmented legs from 20°, 40°, 60°, and 80° degrees allowing you to have greater flexibility to the point the whole structure virtually becomes flat with top-notch stability.

For casual content creators or wildlife photographers, having such a tripod with multiple feet adjustment can be extremely handy because it allows them to experiment with multiple angles without feeling restricted by their gear.

Center Column Adjustment

In addition to that, another cool feature this tripod boasts is the fact that you can also change the direction of the center column, so you can shoot vertically or record product videography in a top-to-bottom manner.

Youtubers who often like to review products on their channel would find this mode very captivating and should certainly invest in this tripod if they want to achieve perfection.

And to top it off, since the payload limit is around 15 lbs, you have plenty of headroom to experiment with multiple gears and accessories while loading up your Nikon D3500.

4. SIRUI Traveler 5A 54″ Aluminum Travel Tripod

Next in the line is a tripod that is manufactured by the infamous brand known as SIRUI, here are my thoughts about it.

Extremely Portable & Lightweight

As far as the weight specifications go, this tripod would astonish you because even though it’s an aluminum variant, it only weighs 2.3 lbs, which means carrying it around or holding it in your hands feels like you’re not carrying anything at all.

On the flip side, the tripod is extremely tiny when fully folded, and I couldn’t believe it when I measured it with my measuring tape as the whole structure was only 13 inches.

But don’t let the size fool you, because it’s so versatile you can easily retract it to attain height up to 54.3 inches which is not that much when compared to other tripods in the list but certainly does the job without breaking a sweat.

Accessory Hook

While the carbon fiber variant is much more stable than this version, I did notice to counter the wobbling effect especially caused during windy days, this tripod comes with an accessory hook, allowing you to hang additional weight in order to enhance the gripping as well as increase the stability so it is wont vibration or wobbles around.

Furthermore, it also helps the tripod stay in its place on uneven terrain where the chances of the whole setup toppling down are certainly immense.

Payload Specifications

The exterior and portability ratio might be the best bit about this tripod, however, when it comes to payload capacity, it is far from slouch as it can withstand heavy-duty lifting up to 8.8 lbs.

In other words, enthusiasts or prosumers who like to perform photography while on the go or simply like to cover public events with their Nikon D3500 should most certainly invest in this tripod.

5. K&F Concept 64”/162cm Nikon D3500 Tripod

Looking for a travel tripod for your Nikon D3500? Look no further because the K&F Concept tripod is the solution to all your problems.

Stability Powerhouse

The K&F travel tripod may look like your standard stabilization accessory at first glance, however, costing no higher than 100 bucks, it surely packs a punch by holding up payload weight to 22 lbs.

To be honest, I have reviewed tons of budget tripods but when it comes to price-to-value ratio and potential strength, this one easily surpasses them all.

Build Quality

Investing in such a budget-friendly travel tripod is usually a tricky business because you usually cannot determine its build quality unless and until you have used it yourself.

To be honest, I was quite skeptical myself, but when I unboxed this bad boy from the package, I was blown away by how great value this tripod provides through its construction design and overall infrastructure, which is far from cheap.

Matter of fact, the whole housing is made from aluminum and magnesium alloy which ensures high integrity and a phenomenal balance between portability and sturdiness.

Speaking of portability, in technical terms, the tripod barely exceeds the 1-kilogram measurement, which means carrying it around won’t be an issue.

Buttery Smooth Head Movement

Lastly, when it comes to head type, the tripod comes with a 28mm ball head that is also made from magnesium alloy and ensures 360-degree superfluid rotational movement.

Being a professional videographer, I did find the panning movement a tad stiffer. However, after using it for a couple of days, I got used to it and it’s safe to assume that there is no aspect of this head that acts as a deal breaker of any sort.

6. UBeesize 67” Camera Tripod

It’s mind-boggling how the industry that’s been creating tripods has become so technologically advanced to create such a masterpiece all while having a price tag that won’t even tickle your pockets.

Stellar Versatility

Use it for your smartphone, Mirrorless camera, point & Shoot, or simply load up a bulky DSLR, this bad boy can handle it all without compromising on its stability.

It’s designed to excel both indoors and outdoors and can enhance your work by streamlining it whether you are a content creator at home or simply like to admire nature by capturing photographic stills.

In much simpler words, this tripod has an immense level of versatility and has amazing levels of dimension specification range that can stretch from a mere 20.1 inches to 67 inches which means it lies in the perfect balance between portability and price-to-value ratio.

Flip Locks & Adaptive Feet

Moving onto its pivotal aspect, I admire the fact that the UbeeSize camera tripod comes included with a flip lock mechanism that isn’t too stiff to hurt your fingers and can be easily snapped open and shut with little torque applied.

On the flip side, unlike other tripods, this one also has adaptive feet that swivel around and automatically sense the surface on which the tripod is laid and adjust itself according to the terrain.

So you might as well say goodbye to wobbling tripods even if heavy gusts of winds are blowing towards them.

Payload Specifications

In terms of looks, it gives off sober vibes, however, it’s an absolute payload powerhouse and possesses jaw-dropping payload strength of up to 5.5 kilograms.

Additionally, if you were planning to use a heavier telephoto lens with your Nikon D3500, you would be able to do so without any problems.

7. Amazon Basics – Camera Stands for Nikon D3500

Lastly, we have the tripod from the most renowned company, Amazon, with top-notch quality and an extremely straightforward design that is made to cater to almost anyone, regardless of the nature of the work.

Head Type

Are you a fan of portrait or landscape photography? If yes, then there is a higher probability that you would absolutely love this tripod because it comes with a spectacular 3-way head that allows not just to tilt but you can also completely swivel it around 360 degrees.

What’s even more interesting is the fact that I even tried comparing it with flagship-level tripods while videography and the results were no doubt remarkable.

The best part is the 3-way head also comes with a conveniently placed bubble level, in case you are shooting on uneven ground and want some sort of indicator for your camera adjustment.

Dimension Specifications & Payload Limit

I am not a fan of fancy marketing gimmicks or any other hyped-up Mumbo jumbos, which is why even though this tripod had a tremendous amount of positive reviews all across the web, I decided to try it out myself and determine whether or not it will live up to its advertised promises.

And to my surprise, it held up to 4.4 pounds payload weight without breaking a sweat. Moreover, for reviewing purposes I carefully measured its dimension specifications to verify its portability ratio, and I was completely blown away.

Because when fully collapsed, it is only 16.5 inches and barely takes up any space when stored in my cabinet, however when fully retracted it went up to 50 inches, easy enough to be used by almost any individual.
