Their Alpha 7c is a robust, lightweight, and versatile camera with full frame capabilities making it the most sought choice for YouTubers, freelancers, and professional photographers altogether.

However, no matter how good a camera gets, investing in appropriate accessories is almost always necessary so you can enhance your experience even further since the sky’s the limit and photography improvement knows no bounds.

That’s exactly why I have researched and collected the best gimbals for Sony A7c across the interest and listed them here based on peer reviews, personal experience, compatibility, and price-to-value ratio.

So without wasting any further time, dive down and take a peek!

The List of Top 7 Best Gimbals For Sony A7C

Let’s take a look at each one and see what they offer for their price range.

DJI RSC 2

Starting from my favorite, the DJI RSC 2 which has some praiseworthy features which are hard to ignore.

Design

I did not believe it when the manufacturer claimed it was as thin as a piece of A5 paper, however, upon getting up close and personal I found it was indeed incredibly thin and lightweight.

This makes it easy enough to carry almost everywhere without having the feeling of being weighed down as not only will you be carrying the gimbal and your camera but you will also be hooking up extra accessories, so weight is the first thing you should be mindful of.

Foldable Structure

Fold it however you like, this compact stabilization accessory can easily almost any space you place it, making storage a piece of cake. Long gone are the days when traversing with your camera equipment was a headache, now you can simply place that baby in your backpack without taking any stress.

In my opinion, the compact and foldable design also makes them less prone to damage when placing them in bags as they don’t have to be squeezed in.

Decent Payload Specs

When it comes to payload strength, the RSC 2 carries up to 3kg of weight, which means it’s not the strongest gimbal in the market but on the other hand it’s not a slouch either.

With Sony a7c which only weighs around 1.1 pounds or 509 grams, this gimbal is more than enough to hold it and provide steady stabilization, and even if you do decide to load up external flash and lenses, I believe you won’t be in a pickle.

Focusing Dial

No need to tinker with your camera, as the gimbal also comes with its own dedicated Focusing dial button which lets you accurately focus on your subject, allowing the single-handed job to feel like a breeze.

OLED Touchscreen

And the fact that it even has a small yet useful 1-inch OLED screen makes the whole deal quite a lot better as it gives you in-depth insight into your camera as well as lets you customize and fiddle with crucial parameters.

Test Results

Using the DJI RSC 2 for the Sony A7C is definitely a sight for sore eyes because you can hook up almost any lens and this bad boy won’t compromise its balancing aspect.

As you can see in the picture below, I have placed my Sony A7C alongside the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 lens onto its generously wide cradle without any hiccups.

To verify each axis of the gimbal is in ideal condition while balancing, the proprietary application balancing system is simply icing on the cake as it notifies whether or not there is any unnecessary pressure on the gimbal axis.

Although it certainly takes a minute to confirm its balancing state, nonetheless it’s quite handy for newbie photographers.

Moving onto its mini LCD, I did notice that while testing the buttons and fiddling around, it allowed me to change the speed and even configure the aperture as well as the ISO of my Sony A7c, eliminating the need for touching and configuring my camera every now and then.

Reason for Recommendation

From auto-balancing checks to lofty payload specifications, the gimbal is certainly ahead of its time.

Weebill S

Got a couple of extra accessories to carry but the weight is too much to handle for a standard-size gimbal. Well, how about you try out the Weebill S as it can easily do the job just fine.

Outstanding Design

Upon unboxing and feeling the structure in my hands felt really good as the quality feels pretty decent and even though the arms are made from complete metal, the gimbal doesn’t feel bulky at all.

This might be due to the fact that the inner body is made from plastic, however, I believe that aspect won’t compromise the sturdiness of this tool.

Multiple Shooting Modes

There are quite a lot of modes that let you have tons of fun. For instance, pressing the PF/L button locks both the roll and tilt axis which means your camera will only move in the panning direction automatically.

The POV button unlocks all the axes to do its magic so you can get those selfie shots while you are riding on a bike or trekking through tedious terrain.

The “Go Mode” and the “Following Mode” are quite the same as both let your camera have panning and tilting-based directional movement, however, the Go mode has aggressive stabilization which means it’s quite suitable for sports-based projects.

Smartphone ViaTouchScreen Feature

Another aspect I really admire is that this bad boy also lets you hook up your smartphone through the Transmount Image accessory tool which you need to buy separately and lets you monitor and view your shots and also allows you to control the gimbal stabilization system, which is pretty handy.

Dual Quick Release Plates

Nowadays everyone is looking for convenience to save precious time, which is why the manufacturer has integrated a dual quick-release plate known as the Manfrotto/Arca-Swiss plates that easily lets you remove/mount a camera on almost all types of tripod in a matter of minutes.

Battery life

The battery life isn’t that bad as it delivers power to the whole system for up to 14 hours, so covering multiple projects won’t be an issue at all.

Test Results

The Weebill S is somewhat modular and you can literally remove each part such as the handle for secure and easy storage purposes. Furthermore, it also tends to have a smaller form factor so you won’t be having any issues while putting it back together after a long day’s shoot.

The batteries are also removable and its latch is conveniently integrated into the back of the hand to easily blend in with the finish.

My excitement was through the roof when I came to know during the testing phase that you can detach the feet and reattach them upwards onto the gimbal, making low-angle shots feel like a piece of cake as the center of gravity onto the payload is easily distributed.

Reason for Recommendation

It has a large battery backup to keep you going without interrupting your productivity and even offers a two-in-one quick quick-release plate system.

DJI RS 3

I have tested out pretty much all of the DJI gimbal stabilizers, however, this one is my personal favorite for a wide array of reasons.

Payload Specs

The gimbal itself is fairly lightweight as it has a weight specification of 1.3 kilograms, while its payload strength is 3 Kilograms. Testing this gimbal with my Sony a7c with a prime lens didn’t happen to bring any visible issues during calibration.

However, that won’t be the case with other bulky cameras where you have to connect accessories that will make them even heavier, so you need to be mindful of that.

Secure Lock System

Photographers like me always travel from one place to another and not just in comfortable studios but also in some mountainous terrains where trekking can be a little hassle especially while recording documentaries or making a documentary or for a University project.

This is why the Axis Secure lock system comes into play as it intelligently locks all of its three axes while you turn off the gimbal and unlock it whenever you want to start using it again.

Brilliant Stabilization Algorithm

It’s quite visible that DJI has spent plenty of thought process by perfecting its stabilization system, with the new 3rd Gen RS algorithm I was having a complete blast recording a sporting event.

The video barely needed any post-processing as the results were smooth and exceeded beyond my imagination which instantly made me fall in love with this gimbal.

OLED screen Inclusion

I feel like the OLED touchscreen adds a layer of convenience and is basically icing on the cake as the absence of a flip screen can be a little annoying for novice users as the touchscreen often has a neat UI that lets you tweak controls and options whereas buttons aren’t as effective while navigating through them.

The OLED technology also ensures it won’t drain the battery life as easily and is strong enough to withstand ambient lighting, so it’s basically a win-win situation for everyone.

Battery life

Its lithium Ion batteries also support 18-watt PD fast charging through the Type C port and provide power for up to 12 hours, enough for you to cover a long day’s work with ease!

MOZA AirCross 3

There are endless ways with this innovative and top-of-the-line gimbal in which you can unleash all sorts of artistic creativity, although it does have a hefty price tag.

Transition at Will

This is by far the most versatile gimbal I have ever seen as it can be folded in different ways such as Sling Mode to get a clear view of low-angle shots, Jib Arm, Foregrip, Vertical Mode for professional cinematography, Inception Mode, and as well as Overhead mode.

This means you can get any shot you would want in a matter of seconds as this gimbal can transition easily to suit the scenario.

Payload Specs

Due to its luxurious design and high-quality build, the payload specs are pretty high ranging at 7.05 pounds and the best part is the gimbal itself is 1095g weight so you will feel like you’re not carrying anything in your hand, minimizing stress on your hands.

Quad Action Modes

Paying top dollar means you get to have every possible feature available in the market, with the Moza AirCross 3 users can now enjoy various shooting modes such as Pan Follow which locks other axes and lets your camera move in a panning direction.

Tilt follow mode allows you to lock and instantly follow your subject without the need to manually move your camera, which is quite helpful in outdoor photography or shooting a movie.

A POV mode allows you to take selfies on the go as well as sports mode 2.0 which enables advanced algorithms to quickly correct any stabilization errors and give you a buttery smooth experience.

Deep Red Algorithm

In this version, the stability is revamped to produce some serious firmness and even has a behavior prediction system that automatically predicts and corrects its position no matter how rough or rigid the terrain you are walking on.

One Button For Everything

If you don’t want to deal with plenty of buttons and usually find menus too bothersome, you will be amazed to see that it has a “one Shutter button” which does pretty much all the task and acts as a quick shortcut system.

Pressing and holding the button will let you focus on your subject while simply clicking on it will start the recording or take the photo depending upon the mode you are shooting in.

This button can save plenty of hassle especially while you are busy with your project where you obviously don’t have much time to look at the appropriate button for the right job.

Test Results

If you are a videographer like me who usually shows their cinematic enthusiast through their low-angle shots, you would absolutely adore the Moza AirCross 3 as it even includes a mini tripod.

Although I didn’t dare put plenty of weight while it was in tripod mode to exceed the payload limitation so that the balancing could stay in ideal condition, the result it produced while shooting solo was beyond my expectations.

However, during testing, I didn’t find anything special about the button placement as they felt rather flat, however, if you are a fan of minimalist design then you won’t have any issues while using this gimbal.

On the other hand, the gimbal also has a “Smart Axis Lock” button which is conveniently placed for your index finger so you can easily lock each axis while recording, saving you precious time.

As mentioned above, once connected through its proprietary app, I used this gimbal during a hike in solo mode, and the remote control aspect provided great assistance as it gave me hand-free control over my camera.

Reason for Recommendation

Includes a mini tripod in case you want to shoot and gives users the ability to control it from a distance wirelessly.

FeiyuTech SCORP-C [Official]

It has a unique structure, decent payload strength, and its own tripod to set it up anywhere you would like, what more could you ask for at such a price point?

Phenomenal Grip

Made especially for the Sony a7c, the SCORP C ensures there is little to no camera obstruction while you are busy in your photography.

Meanwhile, the Titled holding handle and the rear underslung grip ensure you transition easily between vertical and horizontal shots like a pro.

That’s not it yet, the grip even has a padded feel so your palms won’t get strained as easily as they would on other gimbals.

Advance Mode Utility

The rear grip offers a wide array of options such as a joystick to move the gimbal to the appropriate direction along the axis, a shutter button to snap photos or record videos, a Mode button that lets you control All three axis like Pan, tilt, and roll for fine-tuning for a perfect dreamy shot you always wanted.

Anti Vibration Stabilization

No matter how good of a photographer you become, a few jerks and vibrations are imminent, but worry not, the gimbal is armed with a High-end CPU that has a W9 stabilization algorithm that cleverly detects and eliminates jitters and produces a rock steady results with super high response rate, which is quite praiseworthy.

While I was recording my son’s football game, this gimbal proved to be extremely helpful as I was able to capture some beautiful cinematic shots while tracking the ball with fluidity.

Battery life

In terms of battery life, it has a 2500mah capacity and is able to provide 12 hours of runtime on constant heavy usage. And the 18-watt PD fast charging support is simply breathtaking as it can top up the lithium-ion cells in around 2 hours of time.

Zhiyun Crane M3

Last but not least we have another pick from the Zhiyun known as Crane M3 which is compact, lightweight, and straightforward to use.

High Compatibility Aspect

Even though it’s quite small in size, it’s pretty much compatible with all sorts of devices such as Mirrorless, DSLR, and even smartphones, so if you want to switch from Sony A7c to your smartphone for vlogging purposes, you can use this gimbal with ease.

However, you have to keep in mind that it may not support all features such as gimbal follow, track, etc in your smartphone, nonetheless you will have optimal stabilization.

Super Compact

I was amazed to see how small the overall design is since the gimbal is literally smaller than a bottle of water, which means you can easily carry it around in your hand, in your jacket pocket, or in your backpack without having the need for going through special space management for your equipment.

3 Second Quick Release Plates

Apart from other conveniences, it provides to its owner, the gimbal also has a 3-second quick-release plate which means you won’t have to unmount your camera to change the batteries.

Personally, I love this feature since it saves quite a lot of time, especially with the fact that there is no need for rebalancing the gimbal every time you mount your camera, so for amateur freelancers, it’s a lifesaver during busy projects.

LED Flash Inclusion

This “tiny Giant” definitely packs a punch as it even has an LED flashlight for those close-up selfie shots for vlogging or documentary purposes.

In addition to that, you can change the color to a warm and cool preset which gives a dramatic taste to your videos during professional videography.

Moreover, you don’t even have to worry about the flash heating up, since it even has its own personal thermal dissipation system which keeps the LED flash at optimal temperature.

Integrated Touchscreen

If you aren’t fond of buttons which can sometimes have confusing labeling especially if you’re not tech-savvy enough, you will instantly love the integrated touchscreen as it has a neat UI with plenty of in-depth detail that gives you complete control over things such as Shooting speed, axis calibration, tracking speed as well battery monitoring.

Battery life

The battery life may not be as high as compared to the other gimbals on the list, however, for me, it’s sufficient enough to get me through my everyday routine.

On a single charge, you can get up to 8 hours of battery use which can be replenished again in 2 hours with the super-fast charging support feature through the Type C port.
